The most awesome present...

Phew, I have so many things I have been wanting to post about, especially this one.    I made what may very well be the best present ever for Senol for Christmas last year!!   And I left it way too late so it arrived in early January.  Oops!  Some how I came across a site called Tiny*Prints (um, does everyone know about this already and I am just way behind?)  I think it was when I was a friend of mine had asked about making calenders using photos.

I decided to make it a book of photos of Yashar from the last year.  Senol is definitely the sentimental type and has photos of Yashar pinned up all around his desk at work - so I knew I was on to a winner - I was just hoping it would turn out well and that the printing would be good.

I thought it would take a few hours, but, wading through a years worth of photos - especially since I take photos almost everyday was a ridiculously massive project...and choosing was hard!  Anyway after many evenings hiding in a corner and telling Senol he wasn't allowed to peek at what I was doing I chose the photos, picked a template (the traveller one), uploaded the photos and made the book!  I ended up adding lots of extra pages and had fun playing around with the different backgrounds, because, you know, I'm in to that sort of thing.  These are some of my favouite pages...hmm...I had trouble deciding.

I was so excited about how it turned out!  It was such good quality, the cover was nice and thick and it was printed just perfectly!  Senol loved it!

The plan now is to make one every three months.  I think it will be such a beautiful record of Yashar.  I just can't believe that you can make things like this, so so cool.

Has anyone else made something using Tiny*Prints?  How did it turn out?

ps I got in touch with Tiny*Prints and have now got a little banner in the side bar on the right with a code to get a discount with them if you are interested.  Just click on the banner to visit the site.  Yay!

I had not heard of them though I made a book similar at Snapfish. The backgrounds in yours are so lovely and it looks amazing! I too can spend ages doing layouts with photos ;)

My husband´s birthday is in April, and this is a great idea. Our baby daughter, Lara, must give him something special and this sounds perfect. I like what you have done. It is very creative.

...oh how lovely! I wasn't aware of Tiny*Prints, but you have certainly inspired me to make a book with photos of my children. Thanks for the introduction....

Looks gorgeous and it is so special! I just did the same thing for my husband for a belated Christmas gift of our last 3 years together and it is waiting in Didim for us to pick it up. I used Shutterfly but would love to compare with Tiny prints(How much is shipping?)! Digital photography is so wonderful but we get out of habit of printing but these books are wonderful!!! Also excited to see your wall stickers and still need to get your wonderful print for my daughter framed!

V, I forgot to mention it to you when i saw you but strangely on the day you posted this, that morning i was online looking at something baby related. I saw the banner for this site out of the corner of my eye and clicked on it. I was looking at the baby announcements and how cute they were. Then when I came to your blog, you had posted this!! How weird! It's a great site I hope to use too. Thanks for sharing the pics from the book. They are gorgeous. I'm sure Senol is stoked to have it.

Amazing Verity, your photography is beautiful, you have a great eye for composing and framing. So nice! I would love to find the time and motivation to do something like this...

After seeing this, I've decided to order one for my fiance as an anniversary gift. I found couple of places in Istanbul to print but they don't look as pretty. I'm wondering how many days it took to receive the delivery for you? thanks

Hi Solian :)

I'm sorry I can't remember exactly how long it took but do remember that it took quite some time...maybe 2 or 3 weeks or so...
