I'm dreaming of a little trip to stay in this Paris loft

...which would be perfect with this gorgeous children's room that Yashar would love!

this ocean front villa in Mexico

and then there is this amazing place in Morocco...I could definitely spend a little time by this pool!
*** The lovely Lois from Home Base Holidays just let me know that most locations have home swapping potential (so maybe I am in with a chance! - we do actually live in a gorgeous location with amazing views... just not so sure if people would be in to the old pink bathroom!! ;) And I had a quick look at Home Base Holidays and it looks great - I can see I will be spending many hours on that site already! ***

it was a real website?! oooh wow, i think you may have just found me my holiday addiction, how exciting would it be to go stay somewhere exotic?! except i have probably the same problem as you, rural western australia - not quite a thriving mecca unless you are a big fat blow fly. (my house looks nothing like those stunning pictures either)
Loved that movie. It would be lots of fun to swap, if with someone --if I had better house. Who the heck wants to visit NW Minnesota? I am always saying I'm going to move to Italy -- I've love to go travel to Istanbul someday (when I finally own a villa in Italy).
'The Holiday' wasn't a realistic portrayal of how home exchange works - you take a little time to get to know potential exchange partners before hopping on a plane and winging your way across the Atlantic! But at least it introduced the idea to more people.
Most locations have home swapping potential - people swap for different reasons, some to 'get away from it all', others to be near relatives, and many who just want an adventure and are open to visiting new places.
There are many home exchange services and I hope you will check out all the attractive offers on Home Base Holidays (link in my name) - we've been operating the agency, based in London (lots of great offers here!) since 1985.
Cheers
oohh V - I had lots of laughs reading your post. I have been totally sucked in too and I'm now getting notifications from my internet provider saying I am reaching my download limit!!! I have even gone to the extent of looking at job websites for France when I should be really concentrating on our renovation that starts in 10 days. I also go to sleep ticking off boxes of good values our house has that i could market to potential house swappers! Love to all xxxx
That Paris appartment looks great indeed, we have house swapped for 3 times now and we think it is a great way to travel with children.
Ive been thinking about house swapping- I have a friend in Singapore who does it quite a bit- but Im not sure how much interest there would be in Phnom Penh and a house that has 'third world quirks' and a guard outside the door 24/7. Maybe if we moved back to Singapore or to Hongkong I may feel like we really have something to offer!
I was happy to hear you arent swimming where you are. Cambodia too has had some heavy rain and there are entire villages flooded (with g-d knows what and for g-d knows how long!)as well as parts fo PP.
